You can now create videos with V4 Expressive Avatars in D-ID Studio. These next-gen stock avatars bring ultra-realistic delivery with sentiment control, so your avatar’s performance and tone is intentional.

• Generate more natural, engaging performances for marketing, training, and product content
• Get higher realism and smoother delivery in every line

We’ve updated the image generation engine used in  D-ID Studio’s photo-based avatar creation. The model is tailored to produce characters that work in avatar videos, so you can design your presenter and animate it all in one place.

What this means for you

• Same workflow, better outputs: the UI and creation flow are unchanged, but the update means improved image quality and more consistent results.

• More reliable creation: the update supports more stable generation so you can get to a usable presenter image for your video or visual agent faster, with fewer retries.

How works:

1. Go to Avatars

2. Click Generate from text

3. Write your prompt (describe the person clearly)

4. Click Generate

5. Review the result

6. Click Add avatar to use it, or Generate again to iterate

We just launched a major upgrade to D-ID’s API documentation, with one goal: help builders ship faster from first request to production-ready integrations.

The biggest unlock: D-ID is now MCP-ready

We’ve added a MCP server, so MCP-compatible tools can pull the right D-ID context while you build: docs, integration guidance, and API capabilities, without tab-hopping.

This fits naturally into the workflows developers are adopting in Cursor, Windsurf, or GitHub CoPilot and ClaudeCode, where MCP is becoming the standard way to connect AI tooling to real systems.

Ask AI inside the API reference

When you’re in an endpoint page and just need an answer, the docs include an Ask AI option right in the reference experience.

You can now power your D-ID Agents with your own OpenAI account by connecting an OpenAI API key. We added Custom LLM support so your agents can run on the OpenAI models and configurations you already trust, while giving you direct control over latency (streaming) and context (history length) for better performance and predictability.

What you can do now

• Connect directly to OpenAI using your own API key

• Choose any supported model, including your preferred variants and fine-tuned models

• Enable streaming for faster, lower-latency responses

• Control how much conversation history is sent with each request

You can now create a D-ID Visual Agent from a ready-made template, then customize it for your organization—no need to start from a blank page. Templates give you a proven starting point for common business scenarios, so you can get to a working agent faster and refine it to match your brand, tone, and goals.

How it works (step by step)

1. Open D-ID Studio and go to Agents

2. Click Templates (or Create Agent → Start from template)

3. Choose a template (Brand Ambassador, SDR, Travel Guide, or Role-player)

4. Update the key fields to match your organization (role, tone, knowledge, goals)

5. Test the agent and iterate until it sounds on-brand

6. Publish the agent

7. Embed it on your website

Optional: automate what happens next

You can also configure an end-of-chat webhook to trigger actions after a conversation—like lead capture, routing, or follow-up workflows.

Webhooks are now available in D-ID Agents — the first release in our upcoming Agent Skills roadmap. With Phase 1, your agent can automatically send structured conversation data to any external endpoint, so workflows don’t stop at “a good chat.” They can continue into your systems.

What’s included in Phase 1 

• Configure a webhook endpoint for your agent

• Automatically push structured chat data to your endpoint

• Trigger automations in tools like Zapier or n8n, or route data into your own backend

• Use it for practical outcomes like lead capture, ticket creation, CRM updates, and follow-up flows

How it works

1. Open D-ID Studio → Agents

2. Select your agent and go to Settings

3. Find Webhooks and paste your endpoint URL

4. Save and run a test conversation

5. Confirm your system receives the structured payload

6. Connect that payload to your workflow (CRM, automation tool, internal services)

Why this matters
Webhooks turn agents into a bridge between conversation and action — making it easier to operationalize outcomes (capture, route, update, trigger) from every interaction.

What’s coming next
Webhooks are the first building block. Next phases will expand Agent Skills with end-of-chat and during-chat tools — enabling agents to take richer actions at the right moment in the conversation.
